News & Updates Start of foaling season: Emmaville Cliche gives birth to a little filly on Saturday morning 3rd September 2011. 'Daisy' is by our stallion 'Emmaville Darius'.
Three additions to the family: It has been an exciting few weeks with three of our mares giving us beautiful foals to start the season off. The three mares were put in foal last year to our stallion Emmaville Darius, and have produced three very strong, stunning foals. 'Kristle' foaled first, giving us our first colt for the season - Dan. 'Claire' was next producing a pretty little filly 'Dana'. Our main mare Molly, on a rainly day of course, had another colt 'Dallas' - a very friendly little fella. Photos below show Dan left, Dallas right and Dana below.
Copabella Classic 2010: For the 3rd weekend in a row, the Hughes' headed again to Sydney for another round of jumping. With only 3 horses, it was quite a relaxing show. Having an off week, Blackall Park Atlantis did not come home with any ribbons, however still jumped his heart out in the 1.40m class. Ricochet & Yakity Yak however managed to bring us home a 2nd & 4th respectivly. Our beautiful horses also managed to obtain the 'Best Presented' award, winning a beautiful rug & grooming kit thanks to 'The Galloping Groom'.This was our first year at Copabella, and we will certainly be returning - a very professionally run show & a credit to the organisers. Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010: From the 1st of April until the 7th, the Hughes family trekked up to Sydney with a team of 4 to the Sydney Royal Easter Show for 2010. Our hopes were high with our Emmaville Ricochet giving it his all to bring home a 2nd on the very first day in the 'Part 1' of showjumping. The show continued with high spirits, with various places from Emmaville Ricochet & his right hand man Yakity Yak, with places in the top 5 most days. Blackall Park Atlantis came home with a 1st from the 6 bar - his all time favorite event. The most exciting moment however, would have had to been the World Cup Qualifier round on the last day. Ricochet performed a flying round, coming 2nd, with Yakity Yak jumping into 3rd. With this and his other places, Yak was awarded the Most Successful Showjumping Horse of the show. The Hughes' have been leading up to Sydney for a number of months, as it was our aim to push our horses that little bit more and perform against the top horses of the country once again. Due to the encouragement & support of our fellow competitors, friends, family, workers and of course sponsors, our aim was achieved and it was a highly successful show for our performance horses. A huge thank you goes out to all - from our supporters at home, to Horseland who supply us with our gear, Mitavite our feed, Atech Group who is the proud part owner of Yakity Yak & everyone else who contributed to our success. New addition to the team: On the 10th of October our main mare 'Molly' (dam of Emmaville Dimension & Emmaville Charisma) foaled a beautiful little bay filly (pictured below). Sired by our own stallion Emmaville Darius (by Daley K), the still to be named foal is a friendly, healthy little addition who we look forward to working with & producing in the next couple of years.
